CRITICAL THINKING RESOURCES
These are some of my favorite online resources to help me study philosophical topics which involves Critical Thinking.

Reasoning is a skill that benefits from continuous refinement, and even the most disciplined thinkers are susceptible to cognitive pitfalls.

Bias, emotional influence, and blind spots are inherent to human—and even artificial—cognition.

The key is recognizing these limitations and actively working to mitigate them.

SITES FOR CRITICAL THINKING

Block Ads

Blocking all ads on an Android device can significantly enhance your browsing and app usage experience by eliminating intrusive and potentially malicious advertisements.

Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to block all ads on Android devices:

http://camidiscerns.com/2024/04/03/block-ads-android

Use an Ad Blocker App

AdAway (Root Only): AdAway is a popular choice for rooted devices. It modifies the host file to block ads across the entire system, including in apps and browsers.  However, it requires root access and is not available on the Google Play Store.

You can download it from F-Droid or its official website.

AdGuard: AdGuard offers a comprehensive ad-blocking solution that works on both rooted and unrooted devices. It filters web traffic and blocks ads in apps and browsers. For non-rooted devices, it operates by setting up a local VPN service that filters out ads. AdGuard also provides privacy protection features[3][5][14].

DNS66: DNS66 creates a VPN service on your device to block ads by filtering DNS traffic. It’s effective for non-rooted devices and has a minimal impact on battery life. DNS66 is available for free on F-Droid[11][13].

Blokada: Blokada is another VPN-based ad blocker that works without root. It blocks ads and trackers across all apps and is known for its user-friendly interface. Blokada is also available on F-Droid[3][6].

Modify DNS Settings

  1. Private DNS with AdGuard: Android 9 (Pie) and later versions support changing the Private DNS settings to block ads across the entire device. You can set the Private DNS to dns.adguard.com to filter out most ads without needing to install any additional apps[7][12][16][17].

Browser Extensions and Built-in Features

  1. Google Chrome: Chrome for Android offers some level of ad blocking by enabling its built-in features to block pop-ups and intrusive ads. However, it’s not as comprehensive as dedicated ad blockers[7].
  2. Firefox with uBlock Origin: If you prefer using a browser solution, Firefox for Android supports extensions. Installing uBlock Origin on Firefox can effectively block ads while browsing[15].

By employing one of these methods, you can enjoy an ad-free experience on your Android device. Remember that the effectiveness and ethical considerations of ad blocking vary, and it’s essential to choose a method that aligns with your needs and values.

Biblical Hermeneutics

FREE LINK 🖇️ DR. STEPHEN R. LEWIS -CHAFER THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY

The Logos.com guide to biblical hermeneutics explains hermeneutics as the method used of interpreting Scripture to bridge the gap between modern readers, the original audience, and God as the author. more about guide

Everyone interprets the Bible through their own hermeneutic to develop a clear understanding, helping to recognize personal biases in interpretation. This guide highlights that biblical interpretation should focus on the Bible because it is Scripture that serves as the basis for Christian doctrine and practice.

WHAT IS EXEGESIS & WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? PLUS, HOW TO START

Exegesis is the analytical study of the Bible aimed at producing accurate interpretations of its passages, derived from the Greek term ἐξηγέομαι (exegeomai), meaning “to explain.”

It involves asking questions to uncover insights while focusing strictly on the information contained in the text, avoiding speculation or creativity.

Exegesis seeks to understand the author’s intended message for the original readers rather than imposing personal interpretations or desires on the text.

Find deeper connection with God through authentic Bible study.

No complicated rules—just genuine exploration.

MUST WATCH VIDEOS

This video created by Chase Hughes explores the idea that independent civilizations, separated by time and geography, described a shared underlying structure of reality… this recurring pattern transcends myth and points to a universal model of existence. This video is a catalyst for spiritual awakening, personal revelation, and a reminder of humanity’s interconnectedness. Hughes is known for his work in behavioral psychology, he frames the discussion as a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern understanding, inviting you to question your perceptions of reality, ego, and the illusion of separation.

LOGIC RESOURCES

Logic 101

🫆 חָכְמַת הַדִּבּוּר • LOGIC • From: Encyclopedia of Judaism

LOGIC (Heb. חָכְמַת הַדִּבּוּר or מְלֶאכֶת הַהִגַּיוֹן), the study of the principles governing correct reasoning and demonstration. The term logic, according to Maimonides, is used in three senses: to refer to the rational faculty, the intelligible in the mind, and the verbal expression of this mental content. In its second sense, logic is also called inner speech, and in its third, outer speech. Since logic is concerned with verbal formulation as well as mental content, grammar often forms a part of logical writings. shem tov ibn falaquera , for example, prefaces his Reshit Ḥokhmah with an account of the origin of language, its nature, and its parts. As Maimonides had done in the introduction to the Guide of the Perplexed, Falaquera classifies terms into distinct terms, synonyms, and homonyms, a classification which was very important in the medieval philosophic exegesis of the Bible. The two mental acts which are basic to logic are conception and judgment. The former is involved in the apprehension of the essence of things, the latter, in deciding whether propositions are true or false. Maimonides does not consider logic a part of philosophy proper as the Stoics did, but follows the Peripatetics in viewing it as the instrument and auxiliary of all the other sciences. Although some of the methods of biblical exegesis and legal interpretation (middot) employed by the rabbis of the talmudic period rest upon the rules of logic (see hermeneutics ), it is doubtful that the rabbis had a formal knowledge of the subject.
