  • Confusion VS Discernment

    Confusion VS Discernment

    The Fine Line

Have you ever found yourself feeling confused or divided in your thoughts?

It’s easy to blame your confusion on the information you receive or the people around you for causing this confusion.

The responsibility does not lie with the individual who brought forth the preexisting confusion within your thoughts.

    • Proverbs 3:5 -“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
    • 1 Corinthians 14:33 – “For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.”

    The Truth of the Confusion

Confusion stems from within you, not external sources.

When you feel confused, and begin to get down on yourself with negative thoughts filled with self-hate… you must remember that discernment also resides within you.

Instead of pointing fingers at others for bringing out confusion in your mind, take a step back and reflect on what is truly causing the internal confusion.

The inner spirit that resides within you inextricably shapes the way your mind perceives and processes information and experiences.

    • 1 Corinthians 2:11-12 – “For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.”
    • Psalm 51:10 – “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
    • Romans 12:2 – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Acknowledge Self as Source of Confusion

By acknowledging the presence of confusion being within yourself and tapping into your innate discernment, you can navigate through challenging situations with clarity and understanding.

Next time you feel confused, remember that the power to discern lies within you.

Embrace this inner wisdom and let go of the habit of scapegoating external factors for your mental (spiritual) state.

True clarity comes from within, not from external sources.

    Excerpt:

“Most folks seek therapy for past or present-day issues that are typically relational in nature. This usually means you initially come to therapy from the perspective that either no one else is to blame (I’m not good enough, my parents were perfect, I’m a burden, etc.) or everyone else is to blame (he hurt me, she’s controlling, they are selfish, etc.). You might also hope that your therapist will agree with you. Of course! The quickest way out of discomfort is to find someone who will shore up your perspective. While that may relieve you of the immediate discomfort, in the long term, it does nothing for you because your nervous system remains perpetually in threat response, defending you from the world with shame or blame, entrenched in a cycle of victimhood.”

    Excerpt:

“For many, by realizing that you trusted others who ultimately betrayed you, it created a sense of self-doubt, reflection, and in some cases, guilt over decisions made. That in turn created a feeling of distrust in everyone, which is unhealthy. If you can’t trust in others and you can’t trust in yourself, that leaves quite a void. Rebuilding that trust in yourself and removing the self-doubt is the very thing that allows you to discern what and who to trust..”

She recalls the enchanting tales of love that flourished amidst the roar of a chainsaw.

She fondly reminisces about a love that conquered all challenges with ease, navigating through love and danger with unwavering strength.

Watch the heavens,” she’ll murmur, “for even angels tumble down to us.

Ancient symbols in her eyes hint at past passion in her embrace.

She nostalgically recalls a once-fiery passion now reduced to cold indifference.

However, she maintains that the root of her bitterness does not lie in fate, but in the toxic elixir she concocted for herself.

I have learned to appreciate the profound connection that emerges when opposing forces intersect, ones that may trouble your rest with intense images.

I am awaken to deep truths from profound skepticism.

As the tendrils of doubt wrap around my thoughts, I find myself delving into the depths of introspection.

My mind becomes a battleground between logic and emotion, tearing at the seams of reality until everything blurs into a hazy dream-like state.

In these moments of uncertainty, I search for meaning in the chaos, grasping at threads of truth that seem just out of reach. It is in these moments of vulnerability that I experience a profound clarity, as if the veil of illusion has been lifted and I can see the world as it truly is.

I am both terrified and exhilarated by the raw intensity of these moments, as they push me to question everything I thought I knew. But through this skepticism, I find a sense of liberation and empowerment, as I realize the power of my own mind to navigate the complexities of existence.

And so, I embrace this skepticism as a gift, a tool to help me uncover the hidden truths that lie beneath the surface of reality. I am a seeker of knowledge, a dreamer of possibilities, forever chasing the elusive spark of enlightenment that flickers in the darkness.

  • Understanding Discernment

    Understanding Discernment

Discernment is the skill of detecting subtle inaccuracies within seemingly correct concepts, akin to identifying a counterfeit bill amidst genuine currency.

It’s a critical cognitive ability that enables one to differentiate between nearly right and truly right, often revealing hidden flaws that escape the general consensus.

    Discernment Can Be Inconvenient

While many claim to value discernment, its practical application can be inconvenient, leading to its dismissal or mischaracterization by those it challenges.

    Challenges of  Discernment

Discernment is not merely an intellectual exercise; it is a profound mental tool that separates truth from error and right from wrong.

It is the mental equivalent of mining for gemstones, where one must sift through layers of debris to uncover the valuable core.

In a world rife with contradictions, discernment is the light that cuts through the fog, revealing clarity and wisdom.

    Dilemma of the Discerning

Those who practice discernment often face resistance.

Their insights can unsettle established norms and beliefs, leading to their portrayal as argumentative or contrarian.

The discerning individual, by pointing out overlooked flaws, can create tension and discomfort, as they challenge the comfort of the status quo.

    Root of  “Discernment” is Seperation

The term “discernment” originates from the Latin “dis” (apart) and “cernere” (to separate), reflecting the act of distinguishing or separating elements from one another.

    Discernment in Scripture

According to Hebrews 4:12, discernment is a divine capacity given by the word of God, which is described as sharper than any double-edged sword. It is capable of dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

For believers, discernment is crucial for navigating life’s complexities and aligning with God’s will, even when it contradicts popular opinion.

    The Art of Biblical Discernment

This concept is explored through the lens of biblical teachings, emphasizing the importance of discernment in making sound decisions and understanding deep truths.

It involves questioning assumptions and seeking wisdom from ancient scriptures while integrating modern scientific understanding of human behavior.

    Discernment as a Sifter

Like a fine-meshed sifter, discernment separates the substantial from the insubstantial, allowing us to recognize truth amidst deception.

It is an intuitive understanding, a result of careful analysis, and a learned skill from experience.

    Enhancing Discernment

To refine discernment, one can practice habitual mindfulness, be present in the moment, develop self-awareness, and embrace diverse beliefs.

These practices help in recognizing biases, understanding complex issues, and making informed decisions.

Discernment as a Gift and Skill

Discernment is both a spiritual gift and a skill that can be honed.

It allows us to perceive the true nature of situations and understand people’s motives.

While it is a gift from the Holy Spirit, it can be sharpened through experience, prayer, and the pursuit of wisdom.

    Synonyms of Discernment

    1. Judgment: The ability to make considered decisions after thorough analysis.
    2. Evaluation: The assessment of the value or significance of something.
    3. Critical thinking: The logical and rational analysis of information.
    4. Intuition: Trusting inner knowledge that guides understanding without conscious reasoning.

    The Pursuit of Truth

Truth is the foundation of discernment, representing an objective understanding of reality. It is the bedrock upon which knowledge and trust are built, allowing for coherent interactions.

    Addressing Gossip and Vanity

Discernment also plays a role in personal growth, steering one away from gossip and superficial concerns towards deeper wisdom.

In summary, discernment is a multifaceted ability that is essential for recognizing truth, making wise decisions, and navigating life’s moral and spiritual challenges.

It is a tool for navigating between the allure of appearances and the pursuit of meaningful existence.

It is a skill that can be developed and a gift to be cherished, guiding individuals toward a more profound understanding and a life aligned with higher principles.

    Tactics For Spiritual Warfare

A GUIDE FOR WHEN YOU’RE IN THE EYE OF A STORM

    3 Keys Scriptures

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

    Ephesians 6:12

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.”

    2 Corinthians 10:3-5

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world”

    -1 Peter 5:8-9

     Spiritual Warfare is experienced as:

    • … the tensions, the conflicts, the ethical options, and the worldview choices which Believers must face
    • … the spiritual conflict between those who are saved and preserved by God, the heavenly (and demonic) kingdoms are where our battle is fought

    (‘fight for truth’).

TO STAND IN THIS FIGHT – YOU MUST:

Spiritual Warfare can be Frightening, confusing and overwhelming.

    WHAT TO DO?

    #1 Don’t ignore what’s happening .

Don’t second guess God. This is real, and it’s happening.

    As C. S. Lewis stated:

“There is no neutral ground in the universe; every square inch, every split second is claimed by God and counterclaimed by Satan.”

#2 Don’t Give in to Fear

    & Don’t Avoid Fear

Nothing the Bible tells you about the Spirit is intended to make you scared, especially afraid of  the dark realm. FEAR ONLY GOD.

Be sober-minded with vigilance, awareness, and tact. Wisdom dispels fear. Trust God, Really Trust God.

    #3 Pray, a lot!

    Pray …without ceasing…” -1 Thessalonians 5:17

    Pray… on all occasions…”  -Ephesians 6:18

    #4 Don’t dwell on evil

Whatever things are good…pure…of good report…think on these things.”  Philippians 4:8

    #5 Obsessively Study the Bible.

Jesus quoted Scripture in context when tempted by Satan.  Scripture was used out of context by Satan but Jesus knows the Father so, the Word is Known intimately.  Resource: Matthew 4.

    # 6 Seek God, Not Demons

Don’t Ask or Lust after The unseen realm anymore Than God Has allowed for you to see.

People  think it would be neat to see a deliverance because they want to see the demonic manifest.

That’s a terrible reason, and reveals the condition of the heart… Wretched.

Being fascinated by evil is to Love evil. What your heart longs toward is the focal point of your worship.

#7 Keep the commandments of God

Trust His testimony. Here are the COMMANDMENTS :

    1. Love God With All of your being

    2. Love your fellow man, as Christ loved you… Including those who hate you.

“Take the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the deceit of the devil… take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

    Ephesians 6:11-19

#8 Fasten The belt of Truth

    biblical accuracy; certainty, sincerity

#9 Check the fit in the breastplate of righteousness

    Moral uprightness, justice

    #10 Keep Sandals buckled

the gospel of peace, bringing harmony; wholeness and understanding into all places

    # 11 Practice Defensive Shielding

With the shield of faith – Faith of Jesus

With Faith as your Shield you are able to quench all the fiery darts of the enemy

    trust; loyalty; reliance

#12 Check the position of your helmet

… The helmet of salvation gaurds your Mind…  deliverance; preservation

#13 Learn to spar with the sword

… Of the Spirit. This is the word of God.

    # 14 Pray in the Spirit  Always….

Godly prayer isn’t a moment you take for God… God lives in you, scheduling Him into your schedule is not something you would find acceptable with His Spirit in you …

    Tip:

Direct your thoughts and mind on God more than you think thoughts to yourself in your mind….

… “with all kinds of prayers…

MAN MADE RITUALIS & DOGMATIC COMPLIANCE BREEDS PRIDE.

OUTWARD DISPLAYS OF PIETY BREED LUKE WARMNESS AND HARD HEARTS…

IF YOU ARE ACTING IN ORDER TO BE SEEN AS “HOLY”, YOUR ACTIONS ARE NOT WORTH ANYTHING IN GOD’S DOMAIN…

    For strength and hope:

For we do continually beseech God by Jesus Christ to preserve us from the demons which are hostile to the worship of God, and whom we of old time served… For we call Him Helper and Redeemer, the power of whose name even the demons do fear…”

    – Justin Martyr (ca. 160 A.D.):

  • Gossips Are described To Be Just As Bad As The Sexually Immoral & Murderers

Gossips Are described To Be Just As Bad As The Sexually Immoral & Murderers

In the Epistle to the Romans, gossip emerges as a prominent theme with profound implications for the condition of our hearts and the quality of our relationships.

Within the specific verses of Romans 1:28-32, Paul draws a clear connection between gossip, referred to as ‘back biters,’ and a range of serious sins such as sexual immorality and murder.

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness p, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

This elucidates the severe moral and spiritual repercussions that gossip can have on individuals.

    Hardening Heart

Expanding on the consequences of gossip, the act itself requires us to develop a hardened stance towards the individuals we gossip about, creating a clear division between ourselves and them.

When we do this we divide ourselves and those around us from Gods Love.

This results in labeling them as outsiders who are exempt from the principles of Christian charity.

Therefore, we inadvertently create a gap or separation from the boundless love that God embodies.

We must understand that this separation not only affects our connection with God but permeates our interactions with others as well.

The hardening of our hearts towards individuals and groups not only multiplies negativity but also reinforces a sense of separation, subtly infiltrating our world.

Ultimately, this leads us further away from experiencing the all-encompassing love that God offers us.

We must recognize the crucial nature of the path we choose.

Instead of participating in gossip, we must consciously opt for unity, empathy, and compassion.

These qualities draw closer to the abundant love of God which will manifest outwardly in all aspects of our lives.

Mindfully transcending the urge to gossip creates an environment where God’s love will flourish, enriching our lives and inspiring others for greatness rather than putting them into darkness.

Embrace Matthew 18, which emphasizes resolution starting with addressing the offending party alone.

This encourages open communication and personal accountability. Tell the offender how they sinned against you and offer them the opportunity to repent. Forgive them.

Only if resolution fails would involvement from another person in the Faith be necessary.

We need a consciousness shift to change our actions.

Let’s strive to be mindful of the power our actions and words hold, and make choices that align with the teachings of Christ.

Are They Real? | Are They Wearing A Mask? SIGNS TO LOOK FOR

    WHAT IS A MASK?

The “mask” symbolizes the façade or illusion that people wear to conceal their genuine inner thoughts, feelings, or motives, presenting a distorted version of themselves to the external world.

A mask hides the deeper essence of a person’s being.

Wearing a mask is a way of protecting oneself from vulnerability or rejection in the short term, but in the long term nit leads to feelings of isolation, inauthenticity, and dissatisfaction with life.

  • Is it Assumption?—Is it Discernment?

    Is it Assumption?—Is it Discernment?

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

    – 1 John 4:1

Strive to discern the truth by carefully weighing facts against subjective viewpoints.

Wisdom lies in recognizing what is objective and what stems from individual perceptions.

Embrace this distinction for a clearer understanding of information and beliefs.

Filtering through biases and seeking objective truth can lead to a deeper understanding of reality.

Embracing critical thinking and being open to alternative viewpoints can help refine one’s perception and enable more informed decision-making.

So, are you truly discerning the truth, or are you solely relying on your opinion?

It’s a question worth pondering in the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.

“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.”

    – Colossians 2:8

    Cognitive Empathy; Powerful Empathy
    Empathy
    When Empath Meets Narcissist

An empath is someone who can understand and share the feelings of others, while also being aware of their own flaws and integrating them into their personality.

By acknowledging their own darkness or shortcomings, they become stronger rather than weaker.

This process allows them to connect with others on a deeper level and offer genuine support and understanding.

It’s about embracing both light and dark aspects within oneself to truly empathize with others.

Empathy is often seen as a sign of weakness, but in reality, it’s a powerful strength.

When you can understand and share the feelings of others, you become better equipped to handle pain and support those around you.

By being empathetic, you (inadvertantly) are a safe space for people to express their emotions without condescension.

People feel heard and understood with Empaths because they ARE.

This also fosters deeper connections and trust.

Empathy isn’t about weakness; it’s about resilience, compassion, and building meaningful relationships based on understanding.

Some empaths are able to quite literally Sense and Feel other’s emotions, pains, and sometimes thoughts/intentions.

  • Pious In Christ vs Self Piety

Pious In Christ vs Self Piety

To be “in Christ” is what it means to be a Christian.

    Scripture says:

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

    -Galatians 2:20

For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.

    -Galatians 3:26

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

    -Romans 8:2

    Pious Defined:

    Webster 1812 Dictionary:

Danger of Relying On Outward Appearances

“Appearances” refers to the way that a person or thing looks on the outside, including their physical attributes and presentation. However, this external appearance is often not a true reflection of a person’s inner self or identity. It is more a projection of how the inner self wants to be perceived by others, and thus the true identity remains hidden.

    Jesus:

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!
For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all uncleanness. So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

    – Matthew 23:27-28

    What are “whitewashed tombs” ?

Whitewashed tombs appear clean and pure on the outside, but are filled with decay and death on the inside.

True piety lies in the inner purity and authenticity of one’s faith, rather than in mere external acts or appearances.

To achieve piety in Christ, one must undergo a genuine transformation of the heart and sincerely follow the teachings of Jesus.

This kind of piety implants a pure and genuine heart that is aligned with the mind of God.

The hypocritical leaders that Jesus speaks of were not paying attention to the inner state of their hearts but rather using God and his word as a tool to elevate themselves and control others.

    Beyond Appearances

To truly understand someone’s character, it’s essential to look past appearances and analyze their intentions. Don’t blindly follow those whose motives you can’t discern, but also refrain from rushing to judgment.

Wisdom is not judging before Discerning… Discernment allows right judgment.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world

    1 John 4:1

We are sheep in the midst of wolves, we must be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

    The Enemy’s Tactics

Several strategies will help you in this regard.

    Focus on Eliminating Repentance

Repentance is the very practice that makes piety possible. Ideally, your targets would adopt the practice of rarely—if ever—asking for forgiveness from our Enemy, much less from each other.

It is helpful if His followers never see anyone else asking for forgiveness. An atmosphere lacking in repentance breeds moralism and hard-heartedness.

    Emphasize Outward Appearances

Ensure that you make keen use of your targets’ pride in executing this strategy.

As you pique His followers’ pride, ensure they notice others.

For example, prompt your targets to be casually covetous of one or two particular families every time they go to worship.

Get them to notice new cars, beautiful spouses, or well behaved children that they will compare with their own.

    Observable Signs of False Piety:

    Pretending to Represent Jesus:

Claiming to act on behalf of Jesus while promoting personal agendas and rules, rather than embodying true Christian values.

    Exclusiveness and Judgment:

Displaying an “Us vs. Them” attitude, considering oneself superior based on personal interpretations of rules and beliefs, and condemning those who do not conform.

    Control and Manipulation:

Feigning love while attempting to control others’ beliefs, actions, or thoughts to align with one’s own views.

    Rule-Keeping Salvation:

Believing salvation comes from strict adherence to rules rather than genuine faith and relationship with God.

    Appearance Over Substance:

Focusing on external displays of piety while lacking true inner transformation and righteousness.

    6 For the LORD gives wisdom;
    from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;
    7 he stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk in integrity,
8 guarding the paths of justice
and watching over the way of his saints.
9 Then you will understand righteousness and justice
    and equity, every good path;
10 for wisdom will come into your heart,
    and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;
11 discretion will watch over you,
    understanding will guard you,
12 delivering you from the way of evil,
    from men of perverted speech,
13 who forsake the paths of uprightness
to walk in the ways of darkness,
14 who rejoice in doing evil
and delight in the perverseness of evil,
15 men whose paths are crooked,
and who are devious in their ways.
