Unveiling the Spiritual Depth: Exploring Biblical Perspectives
God’s favor is not contingent on physical attributes but on one’s connection with the spirit. The State of Israel, as a physical entity, does not hold a special place in God’s heart. Instead, it is the spiritual Israel—those grafted into the vine of Christ—who are the true heirs of God’s promises. The New Covenant, a revelation of the Old, emphasizes this truth. Through Christ’s sacrifice, we are reconciled to God and become part of the spiritual Israel. Galatians 3:28 declares, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Let us not be deceived by the manipulation of Israel’s physical state, but focus on the spiritual reality of our identity in Christ. In John 6, Jesus highlights the importance of keeping the Spirit and Life at the forefront of our minds. He emphasizes that the flesh holds no lasting value; it is His words that possess true worth. To grasp the profound depth and meaning of Scripture, we must approach it literally, without metaphor or allegory. By doing so, we unveil the intended message that God wants us to receive. Let us strive to approach the Scriptures with an open heart, ready to receive their profound wisdom and guidance. The promise made to Abraham is not solely about a physical journey but also a spiritual one. It entails trusting God completely, even when it requires leaving behind the familiar. This call to faith urges us to step into the unknown and rely on God’s guidance. The promise of becoming a great nation and receiving blessings extends beyond physical prosperity. It encompasses spiritual inheritance, linking Abraham to the bloodline of Jesus Christ—the beginning of saving faith directly from Christ’s imparted spirit. This promise encompasses the salvation of all nations, not just the Jews.God’s promise to bless those who bless Abraham and curse those who curse him underscores His sovereignty and protective nature. This promise extends to all families of the earth, revealing that God’s love and salvation are available to all who believe. The nations of the earth consist of people from diverse backgrounds, irrespective of external characteristics. God’s chosen people, the Church and the Bride of Christ, are those who have been humbled to repentance and refined by God’s fire. Through this transformative process, we become beings capable of existing within God’s realm and experiencing eternal bliss in His presence.Abraham’s journey symbolizes a call to faith and trust in God’s plan and purpose for our lives. It prompts us to seek His kingdom above all else and embrace an inward transformation of the heart. In Verse 1, when God instructed Abraham to leave everything behind, He was beckoning him toward the new kingdom Christ is establishing—a kingdom yet to reach fullness in our current timeline. The Promise of the Holy Spirit embodies God’s presence and power within us, guiding and empowering us to live a life of faith and righteousness. Jesus, the Seed, fulfills the promise of delivering us from sin and death and being with us always. In Genesis 12, Abraham’s call to faith transcends the physical realm and leads him into the spiritual realm, where he becomes the father of a great nation. This nation is not defined by physical boundaries or ethnic identity but by faith in Christ. Through faith, Abraham and his descendants receive the promises of God and become part of the unified nation in Christ. This nation is sealed not by physical circumcision but by the circumcision of the heart, a spiritual transformation that occurs through faith in Christ. Thus, the promise to Abraham finds fulfillment in the spiritual reality of Christ, where all nations are united under one name and one faith. The Promise of God’s favor and blessings extends beyond the confines of the physical world. As believers, we are called to worship and trust in God’s faithfulness and promises, even in the midst of trials and tribulations. Our focus should not be on the outdated, physical promises of the past but on embracing the profound depth and significance of God’s promises for us today. In conclusion, as seekers of divine truth, we must approach biblical teachings with humility and a fervent desire to uncover it’s true Essence.Recognizing our limitations as finite beings, we delve into the spiritual realm to grasp the profound significance of each divine message.God’s favor is not based on physical attributes but on our connection with the spirit. We must approach Scripture literally, unveiling its depth and meaning. The promise made to Abraham encompasses both physical and spiritual aspects, calling us to step out in faith and trust in God’s plan.God’s love and salvation extend to all nations, and we are invited to embrace a spiritual transformation that transcends external characteristics. Let us, therefore, immerse ourselves in the spiritual depth of biblical perspectives and draw closer to the infinite wisdom of our Creator. -
The Spiritual Fulfillment of God's Promises to Abraham: Embracing the True Substance of Scripture
In our pursuit of understanding God’s Word, we must delve beyond the surface and seek the deeper spiritual truths that transcend our limited human perspectives. Exploring a divine God through the lens of our finite minds can be challenging, but it is crucial to approach biblical interpretations with humility and reliance on the Holy Spirit’s guidance. One passage that has often been manipulated and misunderstood is the promise God made to Abraham in Genesis 12:1-3. It is essential to acknowledge the explanations provided in the New Covenant, which illuminates the revelation of the Old Covenant and helps us discern the true essence of God’s promises. In this discussion, we will challenge the notion that God continues to show favoritism towards the State of Israel or any particular group based on fleshly distinctions. Instead, we will emphasize the spiritual significance of these promises, grounding our understanding in the literal sense of Scripture and the transformative power of Jesus Christ.By examining the passage in Genesis 12:1-3 and its connection to the New Covenant, we will discover how the promise to Abraham extends beyond physical descendants and embraces people from all nations and tongues who share in the faith of Abraham. It is a spiritual blessing that manifests through faith in Jesus Christ, who is the ultimate fulfillment of God’s promises. In our quest for truth, let us set aside personal agendas and worldly desires, seeking a genuine understanding of God’s Word. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, may our hearts be transformed by the grace of God, enabling us to embrace the spiritual blessings that come through faith in Jesus Christ—the hope and fulfillment of all nations.Firstly, as God’s people, we need to seek the substance of all things in the Bible before concluding our opinions. We are trying to explain a God who is Spirit through the limited mind of flesh, which is limited to five senses. This is one of the most manipulated and misunderstood passages that completely ignores multiple verses, especially the explanations in the New Covenant, which is the revelation of the Old.The claim I refute is that God still favors the State of Israel or any flesh for that matter. In all things, I keep in mind what Jesus said in John 6: “The flesh is of no profit, the words that I have spoken to you are Spirit and Life….” Also, what does “literal” mean?Literal means taking words in their primary sense without metaphor or allegory. The literal meaning of a word is expressed by letters and is actual, factual, truthful, exact, and reliable. It is conforming or limited to the simplest, nonfigurative, or most obvious meaning of a word or words.Let’s take a look at the claim of the promise to Abraham. In Genesis 12:1-3, God said to Abraham:
“Go from your country, relatives…”Saying, pretty much: “Leave your home country and completely abandon all you know and trust Me.“…& head toward the land that I will show you…”SAYING: I’ll lead you into a land you don’t even know exists, and you have faith in me because of me): deserving glory“…& I will make you a great nation & bless you…”Abraham is the father of Jesus Christ’s bloodline. He was the beginning of saving faith directly from Christ, imputing His Spirit in His people.…I will make your *name* great. I’ll bless those who bless you & curse those who curse you & in all these *families* (nations not just the Jews.) of the earth will be blessed…”OUTWARD VS INWARDWhat was seen outwardly is now worthless in God’s Kingdom.Do not judge by appearances; God is no respecter of persons.Let’s not make ourselves whitewashed tombs: clean outwardly but inwardly, putrid and full of mold, growing in the dark.If you are ugly inwardly, own that sh*t!God will take the wretch that you are and burn it, so to save your soul because He loves you and wants your praises.Jesus doubled down on this:
Thinking, in the confines of your mind, wicked or unrighteous thoughts are no lesser than if you were to bodily act out the sin in which you think. To be mad at your brother is murder.Jesus was showing us our total depravity. God sees the heart (He made it, after all) and showed Abraham who He is, intimately. He’s the substance of all things, nothing is hidden, He is in all things that exist.Who Are The Nations? The nations (families) of the earth are all people from all nations and tongues, regardless of any outward, material descriptors.God’s nation that was begun in the man, Abraham, is now unveiled in the New Covenant, still hidden from those who live for the flesh. Those who live for the flesh are void of the literal Spirit.God’s people are Christ’s Church/His bride; whom He, the Groom/ Jesus, chose, and The Church IS His Body, in which He is the “head” of those who know they are unworthy because God opened their eyes to see in the reflection of the Law, which is the contrast between us, humans, and the Holy, Righteous Lord.In this new vision, we are genuinely able to see things as they are, and in our awareness of our depravity, we are humbled enough to repent and go through His Fire.He changes our hearts before we are willing to face suffering without wavering in faith, to burn off everything in us that can’t exist within God’s realm.God Burns
So He burns us, hurts us, in our flesh; He knows the pain we face today is preparation for eternal bliss and ecstasy that awaits. Suffering must happen if we are to ever be in His loving presence. Our faith won’t waiver because our faith is Jesus!!!He is our faith, He is our grace, He is the all in all…The Father *speaks*;The Son translates (heavenly into worldly language); andThe Holy Spirit is the Work, the action…Holy Spirit’s Work is translated to us through Christ’s intermediary communication of the Father’s Word, put into action through reaction. The Word is the true literal reality, without the Word, all of existence would be void, the air itself would disappear, and reality would be nothing more than a potentiality, or a vacuum, deflating into nothing, from nothing, as nothing. All things exist in God’s Mind; we are in His literal Hand, directly. We are images of Him formed from within His Mind. The mirror is broken and distorted, as the reflection that we are is not Who He is, hence why He came in the form of materiality; to save us; so that we will praise Him and see the full magnitude of glory that is God, becoming One, as God is ONE.This is very easy to understand with a solid grasp of what Scripture clearly teaches through the Holy Spirit.God told (Spoke to by His Word) Abraham to leave everything Abraham knew to go to the land that God would later show/ reveal to Abraham. What land is this? The land God is speaking about is, if we get down to the bare bones, the New Kingdom that Christ established, the land that hasn’t come to fullness within the timeline we are on, in our finite limitations. This land is not the Zionist State of Israel that settled on Palestinian land and expelled poor people who had generations of family ties to the land. Israel is not those who hate Jesus; claiming the “false” Messiah is “swimming in hot excrement” (Talmud). The Promise is the Holy Spirit, and the Seed is Jesus Christ~ our deliverer, God with us.In Genesis 12 vs. 1, we can compare it to Hebrews 11:8.Abraham was being called by Faith (rather, called by Christ) to exit the physical and enter the Spiritual. This is the most literal interpretation, literally spiritual truth outlined directly in Scripture. The New Covenant was being prepared in Abraham. In verse 2, God says He’ll make Abraham a Great Nation.Christ was in Abraham.Hebrews 11:8 says, “By Faith Abraham when called by God, obeyed and went to a place he was to receive as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.” Abraham’s obedience and faith in God’s call were foundational to the establishment of the New Covenant. A shadow of the Literal Truth, which is Spirit.Furthermore, in verse 3, God promises to bless those who bless Abraham and curse those who curse him. This extends beyond physical descendants and encompasses all who share in the Faith of Abraham, regardless of their nationality or heritage. It is a spiritual blessing that comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Sharing in the Faith of Abraham is nothing short of being equiven\lant to sharing in Christ. The nations referred to in the passage are not limited to a specific ethnic group or geographical location. Rather, they include people from all nations and tongues who embrace the gospel of Christ and become part of God’s redeemed community. The focus is on spiritual adoption and belonging to the family of God through Faith, or rather, through Christ. It is important to understand the true essence of God’s promises and not misinterpret or manipulate them to serve personal agendas or fulfill worldly desires. The fulfillment of God’s promises is found in Christ and the Spiritual realities of the new covenant, not in geopolitical or nationalistic aspirations. In conclusion, let us seek the true substance of God’s Word and rely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit to understand and interpret Scripture correctly. May our hearts be transformed by the grace of God, and may we embrace the spiritual blessings that come through faith in Jesus Christ, who is the fulfillment of God’s promises to Abraham and the hope of all nations. -
Prescience
Prescience deals with mysteries beyond our understanding and has been thought about by many great thinkers. It demonstrates that our fate is not just determined by our own actions, but by a higher power.
This challenges us to look beyond what we can see and trust in God’s plan for us.
Definition
Pre-science refers to the power to possess knowledge of future events or phenomena prior to their occurrence.
Bible
In the Bible, prescience is attributed to God and is part of His omniscience, which is His perfect knowledge of all things. This ability to know the future is not based on speculation or guesswork, but on His perfect and infallible wisdom.
Synonyms: foresight, forethought, foreknowledge
The Idea Of God’s Prescience Is Deeply Rooted In The Biblical Text
Throughout the Old Testament, we see numerous examples of God’s prescience through His prophecies.
For instance, in the book of Isaiah, God prophesies that a virgin will give birth to a son and that he will be called Immanuel (Isaiah 7:14).
This prophecy was fulfilled hundreds of years later when Jesus Christ was born of a virgin in Bethlehem.
Another example of God’s prescience can be found in the book of Daniel. In this book, God gives Daniel a vision of the rise and fall of various empires. This vision includes the rise of the Babylonian Empire, the Medo-Persian Empire, the Greek Empire, and the Roman Empire. Each of these empires rose and fell exactly as God had prophesied through Daniel.
The New Testament also contains many examples of God’s prescience. For instance, Jesus prophesied that he would be betrayed by one of his disciples, that he would be crucified and resurrected on the third day. All of these events came to pass exactly as he had predicted.
God Declares His Prescience
In the book of Isaiah, the Lord declares, “I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose’” – Isaiah 46:9-10.
The Lord Alone Possesses The Power To Know The Future And To Bring About His Plans And Purposes
In the book of Job, it is written, “He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him” –Job 12:22.
The Lord’s knowledge extends beyond what is visible and known to man, and He reveals His wisdom and understanding to those who seek Him.
As it is written in Proverbs, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction” -Proverbs 1:7.
True knowledge and understanding come from a reverence for the Lord and a willingness to submit to His ways.
Prescience reminds us that God is in control of all things and that nothing happens outside of His will.
-
Divine Rationality
In the book of Proverbs, King Solomon speaks of the importance of wisdom and understanding, which are closely related to rationality. He writes, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Proverbs 9:10).This fear is not a fear of punishment, but rather a reverence and awe for God’s power and wisdom.Through this reverence, we are able to connect with the universe and understand its workings. The book of Psalms speaks of the heavens declaring the glory of God, and the firmament showing his handiwork (Psalm 19:1).By studying the rational principles that govern the universe, we are able to see the hand of God at work. However, this understanding goes beyond mere practical applications. It is a spiritual path that allows us to transcend our own biases and assumptions. The Apostle Paul writes in his letter to the Romans, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2).Through the rationality that comes from a connection with the divine, we are able to see beyond the limitations of our own understanding and see the greater truths that lie beyond. This is the essence of spiritual rationality – a path that leads us to a deeper understanding of the universe and our place within it. -
Paradigm
At the heart of philosophy and theology lies the concept of “paradigm,” a profound framework that shapes our very perception of the world.
This framework is not merely a set of concepts and assumptions, but a lens through which we interpret and understand reality.
It is informed by our deepest beliefs and values, and contains an implicit knowledge that is often unspoken but no less powerful.
Through this paradigmatic lens, we are able to discern what is right and wrong, what is meaningful and insignificant, and what is ultimately beneficial or harmful.
As Christians, our beliefs and values are rooted in our faith in God and His Word.
Our paradigm is centered on the truth of the Gospel, which informs our understanding of reality and shapes our ethical and moral distinctions.
The Bible teaches us that our paradigm should be grounded in the knowledge and wisdom of God, which is revealed to us through His Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Ultimately, our paradigm should lead us to live a life that is pleasing to God and aligned with His purposes. We are called to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, so that we may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can cultivate a paradigm that is rooted in the truth of God’s Word and the wisdom of His Kingdom, and that enables us to live a life that brings glory to Him.
This knowledge and wisdom should inform our perception of the world and our understanding of what is meaningful and significant.
We are called to discern what is advantageous or detrimental based on the principles of God’s Kingdom, rather than the values and assumptions of the world.

Nourishing the Soul
The Savior, Jesus, imparts Wisdom of the Highest Order, emphasizing the paramount importance of Spiritual sustenance over mere physical nourishment.
James 1:5 says:“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”
What is Spiritual Sustenance in regard to Scripture? In Matthew 4:4, Jesus says, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
In John 15:5, Jesus says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” This passage teaches us that our relationship with God is essential for our spiritual sustenance, and that we need to abide in Him in order to bear fruit and grow.

What Is Gossip? Do You Gossip?
The act of gossiping is a manifestation of the ego’s desire for attention and power. It is a game that feeds on the weaknesses of others, and it can take many forms, from the subtle sharing of information to the outright spreading of lies. However, this game is dangerous, for it can lead to the destruction of trust and the erosion of respect. When we engage in gossip, we are not only harming others, but we are also damaging our own spiritual growth.
The Heart Of Gossip
Gossiping reveals the darkness that resides within us, the sin that we carry in our hearts. It manifests our deep-seated insecurities and fears, which we try to mask by tearing down others. This is a futile attempt at finding validation, for it only perpetuates a cycle of negativity and harm.
Nature And Ability Of Gossip
The insidious nature of gossip is rooted in its ability to ignite and spread like a raging inferno. It is a force that can quickly consume and destroy all in its path, leaving nothing but smoldering ruins in its wake. As each person adds their embellishments and twists to the tale, the flames grow higher and hotter until the truth is lost in a haze of smoke and confusion. Innocent people are often caught in the crossfire, their reputations and relationships scorched by the unforgiving flames of gossip. It is a reminder that our words hold great power, and that we must use them wisely, lest we become the unwitting arsonists of our own destruction.
See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell.
— James 3:5-6Don’t Participate
At the core of our being lies the power to stop the spread of negativity. It starts with a simple yet profound act of choosing not to participate in gossip. By declining to engage in such conversations, we are taking a stand for truth and integrity. We must resist the temptation to repeat rumors, for they only serve to perpetuate falsehoods and sow discord.
Gossip Damages Our Own Soul
At its core, gossiping is a manifestation of a lack of respect for the privacy and dignity of others. It is a betrayal of trust and a violation of the sacred bond of any relationship. When we engage in gossip, we are not only harming the person we are talking about, but we are also damaging our own souls. We are giving in to the temptation of ego and pride, seeking to elevate ourselves by tearing others down. Actual spiritual growth requires us to resist this temptation and instead cultivate compassion and empathy toward others.
Treat Others How You Want To Be Treated
We must learn to see the divine in everyone and treat them with the same love and respect we would want for ourselves. Only then can we truly live in harmony with the universe and fulfill our true purpose in life.
Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.
Luke 6:31If You’re The Victim Of Gossip, Don’t Let It Get You Down
The act of spreading rumors and gossip is not only harmful to the victim, but it also reveals the character of the person spreading it. As believers, we are called to guard our tongues and speak life-giving words -Proverbs 18:21. When faced with gossip, we must remember that our worth and identity are found in Christ, not in the opinions of others.
In the book of Proverbs, it is written,
“A gossip betrays confidence, so avoid anyone who talks too much.”
Proverbs 20:19What Scriptures Say
- Proverbs 11:13 – “A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret.”
This verse reminds us that words have great power and we must be responsible with them. Gossiping breaks trust and violates sacred bonds between people. Trustworthy and honorable people keep secrets close to their hearts. We should strive to honor others’ trust and keep our relationships sacred.
- Proverbs 16:28 – “A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.”
This proverb speaks to the destructive power of gossip and the importance of guarding our tongues. It reminds us that our words have the power to either build up or tear down relationships. When we engage in gossip, we not only harm others but also violate God’s commandments. The wisdom of this proverb calls us to cultivate a spirit of love and truthfulness, recognizing that our words have the potential to either bring healing or cause harm. May we be mindful of the impact of our words and use them to uplift and encourage those around us.
- Proverbs 20:19 – “A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much.”
King Solomon’s wise words warn us about the dangers of gossip. It can break the trust between friends and ruin relationships. It’s better to avoid people who talk too much and find those who value trust and keep things private. We should be careful with our words and use them to build up, not tear down.
- James 1:26 – “Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.”
James 1:26 emphasizes the importance of controlling one’s speech in order to truly embody the qualities of kindness, empathy, and love that are essential to spiritual enlightenment.
- Ephesians 4:29 – “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
We should be careful with our words, speaking only what is helpful and uplifting to others, as our words have the power to either build up or tear down.
A Reflection Of Spiritual Immaturity
The gossiping reflects the gossiper’s lack of spiritual awareness and respect for the sanctity of their fellow’s privacy. It is not only a distasteful habit but also a violation of the trust. The gossiper’s words have the power to harm and damage relationships, and their insensitivity towards the confidentiality of information is a clear indication of their spiritual immaturity.
It Invites Negative Energy
When we surround ourselves with individuals who engage in gossip, we invite negative energy into our lives. It is important to recognize that those who speak ill of others are not operating from a place of love and kindness. By distancing ourselves from this behavior, we are protecting our own energy and preserving our own integrity.
It Reflects Our Own Character
Our actions towards others reflect our character and intentions. By embodying kindness, compassion, and empathy, we elevate ourselves and the world. Our words and deeds have the power to shape our existence, and we should use that power for the greater good.
The importance of trustworthiness and confidentiality cannot be overstated. It is crucial to maintain the trust of others by keeping their secrets and private information to ourselves.
Bible Verses; Our Interactions With Others
- Proverbs 11:17 – “A man who is kind benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts himself.”
- Colossians 3:12 – “Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.”
- 1 Peter 3:8 – “Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.”
- Proverbs 25:9 – “Argue your case with your neighbor himself, and do not reveal another’s secret,”
- Proverbs 11:13 – “Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.”
God’s divine plan calls for us to be His chosen vessels, carrying out His will on earth. His will is for us to live in harmony, bound by love and compassion. Unity is key to reflecting God’s image, and we must strive to be like Him by embracing one another and setting aside our differences. Trust is also crucial, as we must keep each other’s secrets and avoid gossip. Let us embody these qualities and be beacons of hope in a world that needs it. Together, we can create a more peaceful world where God’s love reigns supreme.

Far of the Lord: beginning of rationality?
In the book of Proverbs, King Solomon speaks of the importance of wisdom and understanding, which are closely related to rationality. He writes, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Proverbs 9:10). This fear is not a fear of punishment, but rather a reverence and awe for God’s power and wisdom.Through this reverence, we are able to connect with the universe and understand its workings. The book of Psalms speaks of the heavens declaring the glory of God, and the firmament showing his handiwork (Psalm 19:1). By studying the rational principles that govern the universe, we are able to see the hand of God at work. -

The Opinions Of Others Mean Nothing For Your Eternity
As a human beings, it’s easy to get caught up in the opinions of others.
We want to be liked and accepted by everyone, but the truth is that Jesus warned us about the reality of rejection.
In Matthew 10:34-39, Jesus says,
“Think not that I come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword, for I come to set a man at variance against his father, the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.”
This passage may seem harsh, but it reminds us that following Jesus requires sacrifice.
We can’t put our love for our family or friends above our love for God.
We must be willing to take our cross and follow Him, even if it means rejection by those closest to us.
Jesus never promised that following Him would be easy, but He did promise that it would be worth it.
So, the next time you feel discouraged by the opinions of others, remember that Jesus warned us about this. Don’t let the fear of rejection hold

What The Bible Tells Us About Speaking In Tongues
Tongues Were Actual Human Languages
Acts 2:4-13
In Acts 2:5-13, the nature of the tongues being spoken is made clear through the description of the events that occurred on the day of Pentecost:
“all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance”
Acts 2:4The nature of the tongues being spoken is made clear in the following passage:
Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.”
Acts 2:5-13The passage describes how Jews from every nation under heaven were dwelling in Jerusalem, and they were amazed and astonished when they heard the disciples speaking in their languages.
The passage lists the various nations represented, including; Parthians, Medes, Elamites, residents of Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, Libya, Rome, Cretans, and Arabians. The fact that the disciples spoke in the various languages of the people present indicates that the nature of the tongues being said was not a private prayer language or a heavenly language but actual human speech.
The people present could understand what was being said because the disciples spoke in their native tongues.
This event was significant because it demonstrated the power of the Holy Spirit and the universality of the gospel message.
The Holy Spirit enabled the disciples to speak in languages they had not known, allowing them to communicate the gospel to people worldwide.
Fulfilled Prophecy
This event also fulfilled the prophecy in Joel 2:28-32, which states that God will pour out His Spirit on all people, and they will prophesy.
1 Corinthian 13
Some argue that 1 Corinthians 13:1 refers to speaking private prayer language.
“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.”
1 Corinthians 13:1In the context of this chapter, the apostle Paul addresses the Corinthian church’s misuse of spiritual gifts.
He emphasizes that even if someone has the gift of speaking in tongues, it is meaningless without love.
Tongues Of Angels Is Hyperbole
The phrase “tongues of men and of angels” is a hyperbole, which means an exaggerated statement used to make a point.
Paul is saying that even if he could speak in all human languages and even the language of angels, it would be meaningless without love. He is not suggesting that there is a unique language spoken by angels that humans can learn to talk.
The key message of this verse is that love is more important than any spiritual gift, including the gift of tongues.
Paul says that if someone speaks in tongues but does not have love, they are just making noise. In other words, the gift of tongues is useless without love.
Paul goes on to explain that love is patient, kind, not jealous, not arrogant, not rude, not selfish, not easily angered and does not keep a record of wrongs. He concludes that love never fails and is more significant than faith and hope.
1 Corinthians 13:1 emphasizes the importance of love in exercising spiritual gifts, particularly the gift of speaking in tongues.
The hyperbole “tongues of men and angels” emphasizes that even the most impressive spiritual gift is meaningless without love.
1 Corinthians 14:27-28
This passage can be broken down into two main parts: the guidelines for speaking in tongues and the consequences of not following those guidelines.
Guidelines
In the first part, Paul sets out guidelines for speaking in tongues. He says that if anyone speaks in tongues, there should be no more than two or three people doing so, and they should take turns. This is likely because the Corinthian church had a problem with disorderly conduct during their gatherings, and Paul is trying to bring some order to the situation. By limiting the number of people who can speak in tongues and having them take turns, he ensures that everyone has a chance to participate and that there is no chaos or confusion.
Paul also says that if someone speaks in tongues, an interpreter must be present. This is because the purpose of speaking in tongues is to communicate a message from God to the church, and if no one can understand the news, it is of no use. The interpreter is necessary to ensure that everyone understands the message.Consequences
In the second part of the passage, Paul explains the consequences of not following these guidelines. If there is no interpreter present, the person speaking in tongues should remain silent in the church and speak to themselves and to God. This is because speaking in tongues without an interpreter is not edifying to the church and can cause confusion.
In Conclusion
The Holy Spirit granted partial glimpses into God’s message through gifts like tongues, knowledge, and prophecy, which were only received to achieve a particular goal.
This text is a powerful reminder that the Bible is our source of truth and knowledge. It is the ultimate source of revelation from God, and it should be approached with reverence and respect. We must be willing to study and apply the teachings of Scripture in our lives. We should also be cautious about seeking spiritual gifts, recognizing that not all gifts are necessary or beneficial in the current age. Ultimately, we must never take for granted the privilege we have as believers to have access to the fullness of God’s revelation through the Word. May we always approach the Word with humility, reverence, and a deep desire to know and understand the heart of our Creator.
