The Nag Hammadi Library
The Nag Hammadi Library, discovered in 1945 in Upper Egypt, is a collection of 13 ancient books containing over 50 texts, including primary “Gnostic Gospels” once thought to be destroyed. These scriptures offer insights into early Christian history and Gnosticism. The library’s texts cover various subjects, including creative and redemptive mythology, Gnostic themes, liturgical and initiatory texts, the feminine deific and spiritual principle, experiences of apostles, and sayings and incidents of Jesus’ life. The site provides access to these texts, introductory lectures, and resources for further exploration of the Nag Hammadi Library and Gnosticism.
